If you come by car then it is advised that you should start your ride early so that you can avoid the traffic. You will travel on NH47 and NH151 and pass through Rajkot and Junagadh. The road connectivity is very nice and it is in good condition which will make the journey comfortable. You can stop at Rajkot for a meal and a short break before going towards Gir. If you want, you can also take government buses and private buses from Ahmedabad to Junagadh and then reach the park by local transport. 

  • Many trains are available from Ahmedabad and Junagadh. This is the nearest railway station to Gir and from there you can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach the park.  

2. Rajkot to Gir National Park

The distance from Rajkot to Gir National Park is around 160 km and if you come by road then it will take around 3-4 hours to reach the park.  If you come by car then you just have to take NH27 towards Jetpur and then switch to NH151. This is the shortest route to reach Gir National Park from Rajkot. Several buses also operate between Rajkot and Junagadh. Once you reach Junagadh, you can easily find transportation to Gir. Coming by road would be best option as the road journey will offer scenic views. You can see nice landscapes during your ride. 

  • Trains from Rajkot to Junagadh are frequent. From Junagadh, continue by taxi or bus to reach Gir National Park. Local transportation includes buses, taxis, and rikshaws and also you can get a pick-up and drop service from your hotel. 

3. Surat to Gir National Park

The distance from Surat to Gir National Park is around 400 km and if you come by road then it will take around  8-9 hours to reach the park.  If you come by car then taking the  NH48 towards Vadodara would be best, after that, choose NH47 towards Rajkot, and finally NH151 to Gir. Make sure to take a rest during the trip. You can also come by bus as direct buses from Surat to Junagadh are available. From Junagadh, local buses and taxis will take you to Gir. 

  • Surat is well-connected to Junagadh by train. After reaching Junagadh, proceed to Gir by taxi or bus. Taking a train towards Junagadh will offer breathtaking views and your rail journey will always be cherished in your memories. 

4. Vadodara to Gir National Park

The distance from Vadodara to Gir National Park is around 375 km and if you come by road then it will take around  8-9 hours to reach the park. If you come by car then take NH47 towards Rajkot. You will pass through towns like Bhavnagar and Botad. Then continue towards the NH151 to reach Gir. Tourists can also come by bus, many buses are available from Vadodara to Junagadh. After reaching the Junagadh, you can take any local transport to reach the park. 

  • There are several trains from Vadodara to Junagadh. Once in Junagadh, a taxi or bus will take you to Gir National Park.

5. Mumbai to Gir National Park

The distance from Mumbai to Gir National Park is around  700 km and if you come by road then it will take around 12-13 hours to reach the park.  If you come by car then make sure to search for some rest stops because the journey will be long. You have to take NH48 from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and then you need to follow NH47 and NH151 towards Gir. Direct buses from Mumbai to Junagadh are also available but they are not easily available. You should book in advance if you’re coming by bus. From Junagadh, local transport will take you to the park.

  • People can find many trains that run from Mumbai to Junagadh. After reaching Junagadh, take a taxi or local bus to cover the remaining distance to Gir National Park. Trust me your journey will be filled with memories as the train offers a nice journey to this place.
