Girnar Nature Safari

Girnar Nature Safari takes place in Girnar Sanctuary. All other parks may have zones for safari or have different routes but there is nothing like that in Girnar Safari, only 1 route has been made for this safari. The safari will start from Indreshwar Naka and will take you 13 km inside the jungle till Paturan beats and then return on the same route. Book your ride quickly because only 8 are allowed each day. The government has only allowed 4 rides in the morning and 4 in the evening. 6 people with 1 kid can go on a safari, the kid should be between 3 to 12 years old. You can spot different kinds of animals during your safari like lions, leopards, deer, crocs, and a bunch more. You can also spot various kinds of birds here. Going on this safari ride is a great way to learn about the flora and fauna because you can ask the guides about the same.

Take note that this safari ride remains closed during Girnar Parikrama and Shivratri fair because many pilgrims visit Junagadh during these two festivals.

Let's Know About Girnar Sanctuary

Girnar Sanctuary is a famous place in Gujarat, India. This place is home to many different kinds of plants and animals. It officially became a wildlife spot in 2008 and the safaris are started here in 2021. These safaris are started to ease the crowd at Gir National Park. GIRNAR HILLS

During summer, that is from 1st March to 15th June, the timings of the safari are from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 4 PM to 7 PM

During winter, that is from 16th October To 28th/29th February, the timings of safaris are from 6:45 AM to 9:45 AM and 3 PM to 6 PM

  • Parshwanath Temple: As the name says, this famous Jain temple is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath. He is also the 23rd Tirthankara. The people who follow Jain Dharm believe that visiting this temple will bring blessing and harmony.

Best Time to Visit Girnar Hills

You can go to Girnar at any time of the year but the best time is from October to March, during this time many festivals are celebrated here and the climate or weather is also nice for pilgrimage purposes. You should avoid going there in summer because it can cause sunburn and heat stroke. If you want to take good pictures of scenic views then you should go from July to September because during this time the sunsets and sunrises are great but it can be a little bit challenging to trek because of the rain.
